Botanical Gardens Outing – 4 July 2009
The First RCIA Outing was held on Saturday 4th July 2009 at the Botanical Gardens. Praise the Lord that we had GREAT weather that day. A bus took most of the participants from Risen Christ Church to the Botanical Gardens, a few others came on their own, all in about 30 people attended the event.
After meeting up in the morning we all went in and found a cool shady spot in an open area to setup the ground sheets.
More close up photo’s of the group.
Our “Ringmaster” for the day was John, here he is, more on the mee siam later on. He had lots of “clowns” to aid him in the forfeit that you had to do.
It started with ice breaking games, where everyone basically had a lot of fun. Here’s some of the more memorable games and the forfeit that we all had to do ….. oh we learn a new word along the way as well. If you were there you would know what a ZONKEY is.
We relive the P. Ramlee days with Lydia and John, doing their version of his hit movies.
The most famous word of the day “ZONKEY” if you don’t know what it is look it up in the Collins Dictionary if you don’t find it there ask Irene then.
The luckiest pair around Jeremiah and Cindy, and his forfeit for being caught with the Parcel, they had to share a Strawberry without their hands.
Other items that were done but sorry did not have time to take the photo’s as I was laughing too much … There was a Proposal, An Impersonation and even James Bond or should I say Fred Bond paid a visit.
So did we all had fun, DEFINATELY and how much fun did we have, well see for yourself :
and more Kodak Moments of many many many happy faces ……
So what is the most important thing at a gathering in a park ? FOOD of course and we had lots of food, even the Kopi O and Tea See were all supplied. Here’s a question for you, how do you boil water for the coffee and tea in a middle of a field ? Ah you will know if you had attended.
And above is the much much talked about Mee Siam. there were actually 2 types there made by Shasa and another from John. BOTH were equally OUTSTANDING. I had 2 helpings each. If the missus is reading this they were small helpings just teeny ones.
Just a quick before snap shot of the fruits and the after of it notice all the Strawberries disappeared, they were nice and as big as tennis balls !
So after all the games were over it was MAKAN TIME !
All in an enjoyable day at the Botanical Gardens. But since we are at the Botanical Gardens what better way to end this with some pictures of the flowers all around us. Here’s a little sampling of the “blooms” there were there.
Till the next Gathering.
Welcome
